Curriculum & Course materials
Our primary level courses are based on the Basic Competency descriptors for Territory-wide System Assessment (TSA), Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
For speaking courses, we also base our curriculum on the syllabus of Trinity’s Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE), Grades 1 to 4 which apply to primary school children.
For general English courses, additional reference is made to the syllabuses of Cambridge Young Learners English Tests (YLE) which set out the main target skills for listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Both the Trinity GESE and the Cambridge YLE are mapped to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), Levels A1 and A2 (Basic User). They provide an international system for teaching and assessing English in primary schools.
English Enhancement Grant Scheme EEGS
Eureka is already working with a number of funded schools to help strengthen their English teaching and learning in the long run.
Our NETs and ELTAs collaborate with local teachers to develop and conduct school-based English language learning and teaching activities. Where necessary, we also provide technical assistance, e.g. preparation of teaching materials, logistic arrangements, and progress review.
We are eager to share our experience in the 2011/2012 school year, and by doing so bringing sustainable benefits to your students and English teachers.
