English Curriculum at Eureka

Eureka Curriculum

CEFR Mapping Table

We base our curriculum on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR), a globally published by the Council of Europe in 2001 and adopted worldwide ever since.

All major English examinations for speakers of other languages are readily mapped to the CEFR. Amongst them are the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), Cambridge English exams and Trinity Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE).

The Eureka curriculum contains 16 levels (KL1-L13), which reflects the levels of competence equivalent to CEFR Levels A1-C2 (Figure). For school learners, Eureka L1-L6 mark the target competence for primary school, and L7-L12 for secondary. Eureka L13 denotes the aspects of English language of interest to advanced learners.
